Cooper Veterinary Hospital’s in-house diagnostics laboratory capabilities provide pet owners with an efficient diagnosing process for their pets. We can process many test results on site, typically within minutes. This is especially beneficial for critical illness and injury cases that need prompt diagnosis and treatment.
Our IDEXX diagnostic technology enables us to perform a variety of tests that help identify your pet’s condition quickly and accurately. We conduct complete blood chemistries, complete blood counts, thyroid, heartworm testing, parvo, FelvFiv, IGG snap for horses, progesterone, PT and PTT blood clotting factors, urinalysis, ultrasound for both large and small animals, and much more. Further diagnostic resources include digital x-ray and ultrasound for both large and small animals.
Some health conditions may not be obvious during an external examination. For this reason, we recommend blood work at your pet’s annual check-up to provide a consistent record of your pet’s health history, especially for pets 6-8 years and older. Should any significant changes show up in the test results, we would be able to identify potential health issues before they become a major issue. We also conduct blood work screenings for pets who are scheduled for surgery to ensure there are no underlying issues that might cause complications.
