Boarding

In addition to medical, dental, and surgical care, Cooper Veterinary Hospital offers safe and secure boarding facilities with veterinary supervision and individualized attention from our staff of animal lovers. We want your pets to be healthy, happy, and comfortable when they board with us, so we treat them as if they were our own. If you live in West Monroe, Monroe, Ruston, Sterlington, or other nearby communities, and you need a home away from home for your four-legged friends, bring your babies to us, and we’ll take good care of them for you. When you board with us, you can have peace of mind while you’re away knowing that your pets are safe and well cared for.

At Cooper Veterinary Hospital, we offer clean and secure boarding facilities that accommodate both dogs and cats. We maintain separate areas for our canine and feline friends to ensure a stress-free stay for all visitors. Large and small dogs are accommodated with spacious indoor kennels complete with bedding. We have more than 30 runs available for short- or long-term needs; runs are cleaned twice daily. Dogs are walked several times a day so they can attend to business and have outdoor time in our play area. Every feline lodger has a roomy kennel where they can stretch out or curl up and get cozy. Our feline friends receive individualized attention at least twice a day, and they are supplied with cozy beds, blankets, and litter boxes.

We provide Royal Canin and Hill's Science Diet dog and cat food to all boarding guests, however pet owners are allowed to bring food from home. If your pet needs a special diet for a condition related to urinary or diabetic health, for example, owners are required to bring it from home. Our staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarians will be alerted if any problems are noted.

All boarding guests must be current on rabies, distemper-parvo, and Bordetella vaccines for their own protection and for the safety of other boarders and patients.

Please call today to make a boarding reservation at Cooper Veterinary Hospital. We recommend booking a spot in advance since we tend to fill up quickly during holidays and popular vacation times.

What Our Clients Say

  • “The staff here are incredible. Everyone who works in the front are professional and so nice. Our German Shepherd gets really stressed, and the vet assistant was super patient and great with him. He got to see Dr. Halley, and she is really caring and explained everything thoroughly. I highly recommend this veterinary hospital."

  • “Cooper Veterinary Hospital is the only place in this area that handles international health certifications for pets, and they are excellent at it. They were incredibly responsive and proactive throughout the entire process. Special thanks to Dr. Halley and Madelyn, who went above and beyond to ensure my cat was cared for during our international travel. I cannot recommend them highly enough!!!”

  • “This was my first visit, and I really liked the vet. Dr. Bass is great, and so is Caleb, the vet tech. My dog has arthritis and can't be picked up. Dr. Bass and Caleb got on the floor with him! They are very kind and patient, and the costs are reasonable for a first visit.”

  • ”I came through their door on a Friday at closing time(yall know how ready you are to leave work at that time) with my beardie that was sick. I'd been in a panic because my local vet shrugged my baby off saying he was fine so I had to rush after work and drive an hour and a half to the closest exotic vet who denied seeing us(understandable as it was closing time) So I headed to Cooper praying that they would help. This office was kind and really took the time to listen to me and examine Pablo. I never felt rushed. They were very thorough with questions as well as explaining the medicines we were given and was sure to tell us not to hesitate to call them if I needed to. I'll forever make this drive from here out. Knowing that my baby really mattered to them makes it all worth it.”
